“I became a better leader after the program, I learned how to delegate and handle overwhelming situations. This has allowed me to approach this season in a better state of mind with the ability to stay calm when dealing with new situations.”

GROW Program Graduate | Supervisory Training Program

Strathmore considered Aurélio key to the successful start up of their new branch. Advancing his skills to meet the demands of a supervisory role would be critical to his successful transition. Strathmore turned to the GROW Program because of its intensive, targeted approach, saving them time and money in the process.

Strathmore recognized the value of promoting and developing existing staff for their new branch. They credit the program for enabling them to do so fast and effectively.

Aurélio’s successful completion of the program helped him gain the ability and confidence to effectively manage clients, the crews and the sites. He reported that as a result of attending the program he developed and refined a range of essential skills including his delegation, client management and leadership skills. As a result, he achieved a promotion from Crew Manager to Site Supervisor.

Aurélio’s promotion allowed Strathmore to save on the costs of training by eliminating the need to send senior staff from Montreal to Toronto, in addition to avoiding the costs of recruiting and hiring for his new role.

Strathmore’s initial confidence in Aurélio was well placed. They believe he is set to continue to advance within his new role and is well positioned to grow into becoming a Field Manager with the organization. As he puts his enhanced skills to work in his new position, Aurélio has the opportunity to continue to pursue his passion working with plants in the outdoors.

“Our saying at Strathmore is to ‘Grow Together’ and the GROW Program was able to jump start that career growth for two of our A Players in Scarborough. We think this was an amazing initiative and a wonderful opportunity that we will offer to our team members for as long as the program continues!”
